Our Student Digital Leaders completed their Discovery Education Uk training this week and they are now ready with a plan to engage both teachers and students with this video-based teaching and learning resource. Our dedicated team are already very active across the college and they are currently making preparations to support the roll out of the Chromebooks for Learning scheme.
Callum Jones from year 10 entered the Eastbourne Fish4kids sea fishing competition on Sunday 26th April. This is his third successful year of entering, winning his age class last year and the year before he won both his age class and also became overall competition winner. This year he was again successful in winning his age class and also the overall competition. His trophy was presented by Stephen Lloyd the current MP for Eastbourne who provides the MP’s cup.
The Current year 11 will be showing final pieces celebrating their efforts over the last two years. We hope that you will be able to join us in a public viewing Wednesday 27th April from 4pm to 6pm in the Pamphilon Gallery.

The Politics & Philosophy departments at Uckfield Community Technology College have invited this year’s parliamentary constituency candidates (PCC) from the five main political parties to a mock general election debate at our college’s Sixth Form centre on Friday 1 May 2015 in order to face questions from our students.
The debate is scheduled to take place in the Hall at UCTC between 12:20pm until 1:40pm.
PTA Meeting We will be holding a UCTC PTA meeting on Wednesday (4th March) at 7.30pm in the reading room.
Red Nose Day We now have Red Nose Day Noses for sale in support of the charity. £1 per nose, available from Reception or the Sixth Form centre.

HPV vaccination Year 8 Girls only- new date 1st stage now on the 2nd March, 2nd stage to take place in September, date to be confirmed.
Meningitis C vaccination ALL Year 10 postponed - now to take place on the 13th July at the same time as the Booster vaccination.
Barcelona Trip The sixth form Business and Economics department are going to Barcelona on July 6th. Places are still available. To secure a place enter a £50 deposit on parent pay, but soon!

Last November Ofqual announced that from September (2013) students in England will no longer be able to sit A-level exams in January.
