Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9)
The Key Stage 3 Curriculum aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all students.
Subjects taken by all students in Key Stage 3 are:-
English Language and Literature
French or Spanish
Personal, Social, Citizenship, Health Education (PSCHE), inc. Careers
Various opportunities for Gifted and Talented students both through extension work in class and extra-curricular opportunities.
2.02 Key Stage 4 (Years 10 to 11)
We aim to give every student an individual and well-balanced course during these two vital years. Such a course should leave open as many doors as possible as far as a future career is concerned.
All students study to GCSE Level in English Language, English Literature and Mathematics and the majority will study either French or Spanish. Students will also follow a full GCSE Course in Religious Studies. As appropriate all students study either separate single GCSEs in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, or Core and Additional Science. Those students studying the three separate Sciences will also study for an additional GCSE qualification in Statistics.
Four further GCSE subjects are chosen by students from the following list. Those students who are taking three separate Sciences at GCSE will only select three further subjects:

There are various extension activities in class as well as courses for Gifted and Talented students.
Some students will be able to work towards a Bronze or Silver award from the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. This involves them in community work and additional work experience. Some students follow the ASDAN scheme leading to bronze or silver awards. In addition students work towards and achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold Arts Awards.
2.03 Key Stage 5 - The Sixth Form College for students aged 16+
The Sixth Form College operates as a "College within a College" with its own distinctive ethos. A separate, more detailed prospectus is available from College Reception and on the College website.
Students can select courses that develop into an individual package to suit their personal interests or their career objectives.
