IT Services for students at UCTC

When in college students can connect to our internal wifi network. There also shouldn't be any problem using a range of  handheld devices including ipads remotely from home or outside college for school work. A number of staff and sixth-form students are already using their own devices in school and at home. It is something that the school actively encourages and many teaching staff make work for students available online using the Moodle virtual learning platform

The ICT department have taken a number of steps to ensure that the school ICT system is as vendor neutral as possible, so you shouldn't need to purchase any additional software. Students have access to online word processor, spreadsheet and drawing applications through their Google accounts. These can be accessed online using any modern web browser. More specialised programs are available by using our Citrix portal. Instructions for doing this are here:
