After four years hard work by a committed group of community volunteers a new All Weather Pitch opened in Uckfield on Wednesday 6th November. The new pitch is a 3G Third Generation artificial pitch with an extra thick shock absorbing layer that makes it suitable for full contact rugby matches as well as football. It is a top of the range floodlit pitch as used by the best football and rugby clubs. On Wednesday the town’s Mayor, Cllr Ian Smith, cut the ribbon and declared the new pitch open.
We have a vast amount of unclaimed uniform and sports kit in our lost property. Unfortunately all the items are without a name label. We are unable to store this volume of clothing and as a consequence will dispose of these items on Friday 29th November. If your child has lost any items of uniform or PE kit, please ask them to check lost property prior to the end of the day on Thursday 28th November. Thank you for your assistance in this matter
Students in Years 8 and 9 have been issued with raffle tickets. Please can stubs and monies, or unsold tickets be returned this week. The raffle is usually a very good fundraiser for the PTA. In the past this has funded new equipment in P.E., the new Pole Barn in the Garden, Eco club, the piano refurbishment and a whole range of extra curricular opportunities that would not otherwise be possible.
Important Safety Notice for students travelling to/from UCTC
As the mornings and afternoons are getting darker we are concerned that some of our students are walking to and from College along rural roads without ensuring they are visible to traffic on the roads.
We have received a telephone call from a very concerned local taxi driver who came close to colliding with two students who were walking home on a narrow unlit road, and felt the need to draw the potential danger to our attention.
We urge you to ensure that all students who may be vulnerable to traffic wear some form of reflective clothing or tag on their outer clothes or bag, and if possible carry a small torch. Many coats and bags incorporate a reflective strip, but if not a wide selection of products are available for a minimal cost, including small flashing LED lights. It is also important students are aware they should walk facing the traffic.
Thank you for your help and support in ensuring our students are safe on their journeys to and from College.
Art Work for Collection - urgent
Any remaining students who took GCSE or BTEC art last year, or were in year 13 Fine Art, Photography or BTEC Art are asked to come and collect their artwork asap. We need to clear the rooms and walls of old work and unfortunately next week will be the last available week to collect it.

Invitation to all parents
Dear Parents and Carers. I hold a Parents surgery on the first Monday of every month from 5pm to 7pm. No appointments necessary. Please feel free to pop in to my office, it is close to Reception. The purpose of it is to give you an opportunity to discuss wider school developments on a one to one basis and to have your views heard on how we can make our College even better.
These Surgeries are in addition to our regular Parents' Forums, which is where we meet groups of parents. I look forward to seeing you at one of these dates.
