Dear Parents and Carers
Further to Mr Hennebry’s communication in January giving details of the new College uniform from September 2012, I am pleased to be able to inform you of the timeline for availability of the new uniform and also opportunities for fittings.
Sussex Uniforms have kindly agreed to hold two evenings at the College for current parents and students, when they will bring a selection of blazers, jackets, blouses, shirts and skirts for try-on purposes only. They will issue a form to parents/students to write down students’ sizes and then purchases can be made either on-line, at Sussex Uniforms outlet in Haywards Heath, or over the phone. These two evenings will be on Tuesday 10th July for Year 8 (to coincide with Year 8 Celebration evening) and Wednesday 11th July for Years 7 and 9, and on both evenings will be from 3pm to 8pm.
In addition Sussex Uniforms will be attending the New Intake Evening for Year 6 into Year 7 students on Tuesday 26th June, and will be available from 5pm to 10pm. If you know that you will be unable to attend the evenings on 10th and 11th July then please let us know and we will endeavour to make arrangements for you to come along on 26th June if that is more convenient for you.
As I am sure you appreciate, it takes a considerable length of time to manufacture and supply the uniform for a college the size of UCTC and Sussex Uniforms have informed us that they are expecting to have taken delivery of their entire stock by 2nd July 2012.
If you are unable to attend any of the opportunities to try on the uniform at the College, please do not hesitate to contact Sussex Uniforms, who will be happy to make arrangements for you to visit them at their outlet in Haywards Heath. In addition we will endeavour to hold a selection of sizes at the College for students to try on if all else fails.
Next year’s Year 10 boys have designed their own unique ‘Class of 2009’ tie. This was designed by representatives of each tutor group in a student meeting, and will also be available from Sussex Uniforms.
Students in Year 11 in September 2012, our current Year 10, will not be required to purchase the new College uniform and I hope by now you will have had the opportunity to place an order for their Year 11 purple polo shirt.
Please could I request any parent or carer with financial concerns regarding uniform to contact either their children’s Assistant Director of Year or me. We are always keen to support those families in need and all communications will be dealt with completely confidentially.
