On the 8th of October the textile department ran a the first of 3 workshops where a Textile Artist is invited in for the day. On this occasion Cas Holmes came in to instruct teachers and students. Cas is a local artist working in the area of textiles and mixed media. She produces works for art galleries, public spaces and sells to individual collectors. On Saturday we found that she did an astounding job of taking each of us out of our comfort zone and getting us to work in areas that we had never considered before.
On Monday 17th October 2011 Simon Toyne, author of ‘Sanctus’, visited UCTC’s media studies and English language students of year 12 and 13. ‘Sanctus’ is Simon’s first novel from the thrilling new trilogy. His book has been published in many different countries in lots of languages. He took a degree in English and Drama at Goldsmith’s college in London, despite originally wanting to be an actor he then went into writing screenplays, but as Simon said whatever you want to do in television you will always start at the bottom, so he began making tea.
Sixth form students at Uckfield Community Technology College are celebrating an excellent set of AS and A level results.
A level students have performed exceptionally well, with 41% achieved A*-B grades and over three-quarters (76%) of all entries awarded the top A*-C grades. 91% got A*-D and the pass rate was 99%. Eight students achieved straight A* and A grades in all subjects. We congratulate all our students on achieving their personal best.
A sudden downpour failed to dampen spirits of students at Uckfield Community Technology College who collected their GCSE results on Thursday 25th August. Students worked very hard to fulfil their potential, and there were many delighted students who surpassed their expectations. An amazing seven students achieved more than ten A* and A grades; with 63% of the year group achieving the benchmark 5 A*-C with English and Maths.
Results in English (71% A*-C) and Maths (70%) GCSE were impressive, with 68% of all entries graded C or above.
Open Evening - Thursday, September 22nd 2011 from 5.00pm.
Year 6 pupils and their parents and carers are warmly invited to our Open Evening on Thursday 22nd September. You can tour the school, meet students and staff and see the school in action. The Principal's addresses will be at 5.00 and 6.30 in the main hall.
Just a reminder of some advice to all parents/carers and students about being safe coming to and from school in the darker, winter months. Wear something bright, and always have working lights/reflectors on your bike when cycling. More information here.
Bus service alteration
Slight changes of timings for the 31 Bus Service from 14th November 2016. We have been advised that timings on 31 bus service between Haywards Heath and Uckfield Bus Station will be very little changed although you may wish to note that the 15:45 from Uckfield Bus Station to Maresfield, Newick, North Chailey and Haywards Heath is revised to depart from the Bus Station at 15:50pm.
Mock examinations date change
Please note that the December Year 11 GCSE mock exams will now be being held between the 14th and 20th December inclusive (moved from 12th to 16th December inclusive).

Austria Ski Trip 2017
Friday 31st March 2017, returning on Saturday 8th April.
There are still some places available for next year's ski trip. No experience required! This is an amazing trip where you will get to have great fun on and off the slopes. There's skiing, sledging, racing, bowling, swimming, sliding, quizzing, eating, shopping, relaxing, laughing (lots) and snowballs (lots and lots). All in a safe, fun environment.
